| Has anyone experienced problems receiving immunizations at the clinic at Fort Belvoir? I have Tricare Standard along with a supplement for health insurance. I assumed we could receive shots at Fort Belvoir since it is a MTF, but I was wrong. I got some conflicting information when I called to verify that we could get the shots. I was told that my children under 16 couldn't receive shots because we were Tricare Standard, however my oldest who is 18 was able to receive her shots at the adult immunization clinic. When I visited the Tricare Office at the hospital I was told my oldest was not to have received that shot because as it stands the hospital Commander has instituted the policy that Tricare Standard patients are not to be seen at the immunization clinic. It sure would be nice if everyone was familiar with the hospital policy regarding Tricare Standard patients. Of course, Bethesda will see Tricare Standard patients but who wants to drive that far? Make sure you call in advance to verify the hospital policy for Tricare Standard Patients. I assumed all MTF saw Tricare Standard patients based on space availability! |
