VR SAM Endorses “The Families of the Wounded Fund (FOTWF)”

We know that most of our readers have a very strong affinity for our Military Families.   In fact, most of us view the Military as an extension of our own family.   Many of you are serving, have served, or are a Military Family Member, so you know that in the past decade thousands of our Military Members have paid a tremendous price for their service.  And sharing the pain right along their sides are our great Military Families.

“The Families of the Wounded Fund,” FOTWF, provides financial assistance to the family members of Military Members who sustained severe combat-related wounds during their service in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Many of these family members travel great distances to be with their loved ones at the McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, VA, a top facility for treating those with traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries. They incur travel and living expenses and most often give up a job to be with their Wounded Warrior.  FOTWF provides critical funds to defray many of these expenses and alleviate some of their financial stress.

Like us, you probably want to know that your charitable donation is going to the intended recipient.  FOTWF is a qualified 501(C)(3) charitable fund (tax deductible).  Because it is an all-volunteer organization, 100% of donations go directly to the recipient families. The link below has excellent information on the work FOTWF is doing on behalf of our Military Families.   While on the site, click the link to the Board of Directors and note that the FOTWF’s honorary chairman is General Richard B. Myers, former Chairman of the JCS.  Likewise, you will note that Commander Paul Galanti, USN (retired), former Vietnam War POW, is a member of the Richmond board.   Click the “mission utube” video to hear CDR Galanti’s remarks and see the work the FOTWF is doing.   Then click the link and make your donation.   VR SAM commits to a minimum $100 donation for each real estate transaction!  Our Military Families thank you. We hope you will join VR SAM in supporting these very deserving families supporting our nation's heroes.
