Hubby is finishing up his final contract and was only sent across the state but....2 hours 1 way is just too far to drive every day. We've done everything in our power over to sell (I'm even the licensed Real Estate Broker!) and are just trying to sell our home for what we paid for it now. I know that a lot of people in much worse situations but my husband and I have sacrificed so much in the way of family life while he has been transferred 5 times all over 2 states while recruiting for the last 8 years. He actually keeps a blow up mattress in his truck! We applied for HAP months ago and are supposedly 281 on the list in Savannah with over 1500 people after us! Come on Government - help out the hard-working people that rarely ask for help!!!! We don't know how much longer we can keep our heads up and are just so bitter and stressed out cry. Maybe I'll start calling my state and county representatives? HELP!! I just feel so bad for my hard-working husband being away from his 3 young daughters and wife while working SO hard!

I forgot to put in that, like another military family that wrote into you, my husband lives in a travel trailer/camper during the week (and only from May-October) in a private campground! It's better than being deployed so we grin and bear it for now. God bless you all and good luck.
