New retail stores have recently opened and others will be following this summer. Linens and Things in Haymarket will open within the next 2-3 weeks. World Market in the same area has opened it's doors and Bed Bath and Beyond off of 29 has opened in Gainesville.

How exciting to finally be getting some much needed retail stores in the Gainesville/Haymarket area! I hear there's a Michaels, Staples, Safeway and Home Dept coming up in this area, too!

Looks like they've started the foundations for Safeway and Home Depot in Haymarket. Does anyone know when they'll start work on the proposed CVS across from Sheetz?

Has anyone eaten at the Thai restaurant in the Somerset Crossing area close to Shoppers?

More shopping in Gainesville, VA. Piedmont Center Plaza off of Route 55 .Situated on a 9-acre campus close to the historic Town of Haymarket across from Haymarket Post Office. Center includes US Tigers martial arts school, 3 restaurants, nail salon, hair salon, physical therapists, convenience store, children indoor activity center and children learning center...
It's hard to see some of these stores from the road. They do have a directory with the names of the stores out in front, but I find it hard to read.(Print is small) This past weekend my daughters tried out the Nail Salon and were pleased with their manicure.

Hey, I do believe there is a BERTUCCIS RESTAURANT being built in the Shoppes at Stonewall off of 29! I ate at the restaurant in Fairfax County and I recall having a brick oven cooked pizza! Can't wait!

I ate at Mimi's Cafe in Gainsville within this past month. So far the service has been great and both times the food has been good.

Sorry to report that World Market looks like its closing shop in Gainesville, VA. Right after Christmas they advertised a going out of sale prices. Inventory was low and prices were slashed.

Does anyone know what is going on with Haymarket Village Center? There hasn't been any activity for almost two years. At one point I heard that a Home Depot and Safeway were going to be built.
